A painting on a fin

Here is the first of two fins I was asked to donate to the Save Trestles Auction coming up in a week or so. I just wrote a long rant about how much I love paint, then read it and thought it was weird so I deleted it. I need friends that paint and want to geek out about it. Now taking applications. heres a link to the Surfrider website with info on the show.

copy and paste I don't know how to link or just go to surfrider.org and find your way to South Orange County.

Thanks for looking

This panting was sold to some lovely people last summer. I thought I'd put it up to prove that I still do character work kind of (take that!) I'm gonna start re-working the octopus-guy with speakers in his chest toy for kicks. I don't have any plans to get it made but will post the turnarounds for my students scrutiny. Anyway I finished my last bit o' freelance work up so its just teaching and painting for the rest of the year, and hopefully until summer when I'll start having a panic attack and looking for more work but thats another story.

New Design

This was originally a charcoal drawing that made its way to a silkscreened poster (its up at Avanti) and now looks to be used by a surf/skate company for t-shirts. This is the photoshop version of the original. Some of the text was changed to include the company's name etc

Fragment of a new painting

I can't show you the whole thing, its not ready yet, and my scanner is too small etc etc But I screen printed the image in the poster onto a painting and then painted over it, sanded it away, etc IT was a first for me. The tentacle in the bottom is part of the screen print...

Avanti Cafe

I'll have three or four prints showing at a small little local show at Avanti Cafe which will be up on the 18th of November. Here is a low quality photo of one. I painted each color separately on acetate sheets. Makes everything feel clunky and hard to register. I only made 20 of each print. Hope to have more available soon. Email if you're interested and can't make the show. $30 -paypal me rick(at)sect.net replace (at) with @ -spam is killing me.

Car T-Shirt

The kind people at Worship Skateboards sent me a shirt I designed for them and it RULES! Thanks too Jeff for being a quality human being and for clothing my wife and I. Don't be a fool and get one of these before they are gone. www.worshipskateboards.com I'd make it a link but I don't know how...burn!
